Reels Guidelines

Standards for short-form video and remixable content.

These guidelines cover standards for short-form video and remixable content.

Reels publishing rules

Reels are short-form video content and may include edits, captions, music, and other overlays. The person posting is responsible for the complete clip and for ensuring that the edit does not remove context in a way that materially misleads viewers.

  • Use video and audio you created or are licensed to use in this format and region.
  • Get consent before publishing identifiable people in a sensitive or private context.
  • Do not post dangerous instructions, exploitative imagery, non-consensual intimate material, or content prohibited by the Community Guidelines.
  • Do not use edits, synthetic media, or captions to impersonate someone or fabricate evidence.

Viewing and interactions

Reel views, likes, comments, and shares are interactions, not proof that a viewer endorses or verifies the content. Use available report and account controls when a Reel creates a safety, privacy, or rights concern.

What you can do

  • Post content you own or are authorized to share.
  • Use labels and context where a post could mislead.
  • Follow the music, safety, and community rules.
